Navigating Kontakt versions can be a common source of frustration for many. This article aims to provide clarity on determining whether you’re working with Kontakt Full or Kontakt Player.
To see what version of Kontakt you are using you can do one of the following.
1
Identifying your Kontakt version is straightforward. In the top left corner of the Kontakt application, if you spot the Native Instruments logo followed by “Kontakt,” you’re running the full version. If it displays “Kontakt Player,” you’re using the free version.
2
Another way to find your Kontakt version is by clicking on the Kontakt logo within the application. This action will open the Kontakt version and information page, providing you with the details you need.
3
To check your available Kontakt versions, follow these steps in Native Access:
1. Open Native Access. 2. In the search bar, type “Kontakt.” 3. This will display the available versions of Kontakt you have access to.
By using Native Access, you can easily determine which versions of Kontakt are at your disposal.
DEMO
If you own the full version of Kontakt but encounter the ‘DEMO’ label, it could indicate that your Kontakt has reverted to the Player Version. Several factors can cause this issue, including:
1. Updating your computer or operating system. 2. Updating certain applications. 3. Having both Kontakt 5 and 6 installed on the same machine. 4. Potential read-write errors.
In such cases, troubleshooting and resolving the underlying causes can help you regain access to the full version of Kontakt.
